Welcome to the 2026–27 academic year!
It’s wonderful to see the studios coming back to life and to welcome our new and returning students, faculty, and staff.
There’s a lot happening in Fine Arts this fall, with exhibitions, visiting artists, lectures, open studios, and, most importantly, lots of new work being made. I hope everyone will take the opportunity to explore beyond their own studios and classrooms, meet new people, exchange ideas, and see what’s happening across our community.
A huge thank you to our faculty and staff for everything they’ve done to get us ready for the semester. I’m excited to see what the year brings.

Celebrating the Retirements of John Monti and Donna Moran |

We share the bittersweet news of the retirements of John Monti and Donna Moran, honoring their many years of dedication, service, and commitment to our students, our department, and the broader Pratt community. Throughout their careers, John and Donna have made countless and lasting contributions to our Fine Arts community, sharing their knowledge, insights, and perspectives with care, thoughtfulness, and generosity.
While we will sorely miss them both, we are grateful for the expertise, kindness, generosity, and commitment they have shared with our students and colleagues over the years. Their impact on the Fine Arts community will continue to be felt, and we are excited to celebrate all they have accomplished and the legacies they leave behind. We wish John and Donna all the very best as they begin this new chapter, and hope it brings them plenty of time for the people, pursuits, and adventures that bring them joy.
Thank you for all you have done—and continue to do—John and Donna!

Organized by Fine Arts Civic Engagement Fellow Kamau Amu Patton.
Projects Archive presents a survey of project documentation of community and site-engaged works from over the course of Kamau Amu Patton’s career. The projects included in this survey articulate the broad range of work and working practices Patton has deployed over the years. For this exhibition, Patton shares works which consider the methodologies of place, the body, and the built environment. Read more. . . |

Congratulations to MFAs '27 Noelle Fries, Chuyoun Hughes, and Wolf (Kyra Wolfenbarger)
Each artist will receive $2,500 to support materials for their MFA thesis work.
The recipients were selected from a very strong group of applications by a jury of Leonardo Bravo, Alexander Brewington, Allison Weisberg, and Merele Williams.
Made possible through the generosity of Terry’s widow, Merele Williams, the award supports Fine Arts MFA students at a critical and exciting moment as they enter their thesis year.
Terry Adkins (1953–2014) was an influential artist, musician, and educator whose work brought together sculpture, performance, sound, and history through what he called “recitals.” His legacy continues through the artists he mentored and inspired.
